  We had the good fortune of staying at the Albergue San Antonio de Padua in October of 2016 and couldn't have been more delighted with our stay there. Normally I don't go out of my way to review the places we stay, but the warm treatment we received from the moment we arrived to the time of our departure seem like reason enough to do so. Friends had accompanied us on our walk from Leon and needed a taxi to get to their hotel in Villadangos del Paramo. Anabel, our hospitalera, helpfully called for the taxi and then invited us and our friends to have a drink and warm up by the fireplace downstairs. The dinner that our hosts fixed for us could not have been more delicious (salad with all sorts of veggies, gazpacho, paella, and dessert crepes) and was all vegetarian. Our private room with shared bath (E30) was clean and comfortable, and when people in the hotel mentioned that it was chilly, our hosts both offered extra blankets and turned on the heat. We don't know if we'll ever get the chance to hike the Camino again, but if we do, we'll definitely try to stay here.
